Detailed description
- Group B Streptococcus (GBS) can cause infection in pregnant women during the late stages of pregnancy, leading to adverse pregnancy outcomes. Pregnant women who carry GBS have a high likelihood of transmitting it to their newborns during delivery, resulting in conditions such as sepsis, pneumonia, and meningitis, which are associated with high morbidity and mortality rates; even after treatment, long-term sequelae may persist.
- The DL-GBS series Group B Streptococcus culture and analysis system features liquid enrichment, specific chromogenic detection, and automated testing. It is used for GBS screening in pregnant women at 35–37 weeks; among those with positive results, antibiotic prophylaxis during delivery can effectively reduce the incidence of neonatal infection. This method is recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and is suitable for perinatal Group B Streptococcus screening in hospitals at all levels.
- The Group B Streptococcus culture analysis system is a fully automated instrument that meets the demands of high-throughput screening. Its selective chromogenic medium relies on an enzyme‑based colorimetric reaction based on “yellow pigment production,” providing ample nutrients and growth factors to support GBS proliferation while employing antibiotics to inhibit the growth of contaminating microorganisms. Positive cultures can be directly subcultured on agar plates for GBS isolation, facilitating subsequent assays such as antimicrobial susceptibility testing and serotyping.
