IPO: Is Dier Ready? — At 6:00 p.m. on January 11, all Dier employees gathered, bearing this pressing question, to listen together to Chairman Lin Huaqing’s 2017 New Year address, titled “Constancy, Change, and Simplicity,” just before the company’s New Year gala began.

2017 is destined to be an extraordinary year for Deer Bio. Founded in 2003, the company is about to enter its 15th year. At 15, Deer is a vibrant young woman—full of youth and beauty; she is also an optimistic, forward‑looking girl who deeply understands responsibility and commitment. And at 15, she remains a young woman brimming with hope for the future—going public through an IPO is her next ambitious goal.

To swiftly achieve this shared goal of all Dier employees, Chairman Lin Huaqing has articulated the overarching guiding principle for Dier Company’s 2017 development: consistency, adaptability, and simplicity.

Never forget our original aspiration, and keep forging ahead.

No matter how the world changes, how industries evolve, or what stage a company is at, Deer Bio remains steadfast in its mission to empower every hospital with superior microbiological testing services that safeguard human health. Likewise, Deer Bio and all its employees remain committed to this mission, continuously striving to address shortcomings and boldly pioneering innovation.

A company’s core competitiveness is no longer rooted in relationships and resources, but in an excellent institutional framework.

In the new year, Deer Bio will strengthen its organizational structure and bolster its institutional capabilities, while de-emphasizing individual roles. To this end, the company will establish a Corporate Management and Decision‑Making Committee. Over the past decade and more, under the leadership of Chairman Lin Huaqing, Deer has achieved rapid growth. However, for Deer Bio to truly become a publicly listed company characterized by sound governance and efficient development, it must also put in place a robust, well‑defined organizational decision‑making and management framework—one that clearly delineates responsibilities, authorities, and incentives and is rigorously implemented—so as to ensure the company maintains steady, prudent, and highly effective progress.

We will boldly promote employees who are ambitious and highly responsible, ensuring that talented individuals have the opportunity to shine. We must continue to attract top talent, strengthen our talent pipeline, enhance skills development for all staff, and implement a workforce exit management system.

Talent is the primary productive force, the foremost source of competitive advantage among companies, and the driving force behind an enterprise’s continuous advancement. Starting in 2017, Deer Biotech will increase its investment in human resources, foster and empower capable individuals to grow, and ensure the rational and efficient allocation of talent. We will also diversify and expand our training channels: in addition to enriching our internal training programs, we will explore and establish external training initiatives to accelerate talent development and build a robust succession pipeline. Furthermore, we will implement a workforce exit mechanism—where “exit” does not signify retreat or dismissal, but rather a more balanced reallocation of human capital, aimed at enabling the company to move forward more effectively. For the company to thrive, launching a well‑designed personnel‑exit framework is a critical safeguard that enables us to confront challenges head‑on, unite as one, and achieve our strategic growth objectives.

We must strengthen corporate culture development and ensure that corporate culture truly delivers results.

Corporate culture is the soul of an enterprise, shaping the mindset of its employees and influencing decision-making at all levels. It manifests in the everyday actions and attitudes of staff, directly impacting the company’s performance. Corporate culture is not merely a slogan or a catchphrase; for it to truly deliver value, it must be embedded in daily work practices and serve as the guiding principle that informs every employee’s routine tasks.

Constancy, change, and simplicity all originate in the I Ching. Chairman Lin’s New Year message eloquently draws upon the essence of Chinese culture to convey his vision for Deer Biotech in 2017. We firmly believe that, under the wise leadership of the Board of Directors and with the united efforts of all departments and every employee—rolling up our sleeves and working hard—Deer Biotech will surely achieve remarkable results in 2017 and usher in a new era of rapid, leap‑frogging growth.
