From May 24 to 26, 2019, the Third China Conference on Clinical Diagnosis and Laboratory Medicine for Women and Children, hosted by the Chinese Association of Maternal and Child Health, successfully concluded in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. The conference was themed “Standardization and Popularization, Innovation and Advancement,” with presentations focusing on cutting-edge diagnostic technologies and consensus guidelines for the standardized, protocol‑based diagnosis of congenital defects at the three‑tier prevention level, as well as common gynecological and pediatric conditions.

Zhuhai Deer Bioengineering Co., Ltd. showcased its independently developed and manufactured Group B Streptococcus culture and analysis system at this conference and delivered a keynote address titled “Clinical Applications of Prenatal Screening for Group B Streptococcus” at the Clinical Laboratory Forum.

Perinatal Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infection may lead to adverse pregnancy outcomes, including premature rupture of membranes, preterm birth, late‑gestation miscarriage, and puerperal infections. During delivery, there is a high risk of maternal–neonatal transmission, which can result in severe neonatal infections such as sepsis, pneumonia, and meningitis. Routine antenatal GBS screening and antibiotic prophylaxis at 35–37 weeks of gestation can effectively prevent mother–infant GBS transmission, drawing significant attention from the conference participants.

In response to the current epidemiological landscape and testing needs for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infections in China, Dier Biotech has innovatively developed, in accordance with the U.S. CDC’s “Perinatal GBS Prevention Guidelines,” a liquid chromogenic culture kit and an automated detection instrument based on the yellow‑color development principle. These tools enable highly specific proliferation and detection of GBS in test samples, providing clinicians with a rapid, accurate, convenient, and high‑throughput solution for perinatal GBS screening.

In At Booth A15, Dier Biotech showcased its Group B Streptococcus culture‑and‑analysis system, a mycoplasma identification and antimicrobial susceptibility kit, a bacterial vaginosis test kit, and other rapid diagnostic products for urogenital bacterial infections. These offerings received high praise from attending experts, who also provided constructive guidance on the further development of Dier Biotech’s product portfolio.

As a leading brand in the field of national microbial diagnostics, Dier Biotechnology will provide users with high-quality, innovative, end-to-end microbial diagnostic solutions, safeguarding the health of women and children in China and advancing the development of domestic microbial testing technologies.
